We are selling the Google Chordette Carry, a unique, never-used, complete high-end portable audio system, custom designed for Google by Chord Electronics, only known and coveted by the most discerning audiophiles. As featured on Engadget, it’s an incredibly rare item, never sold to the public, only available as a gift to Googlers.

The Chordette is Chord’s portable high-end audio device. However, just because it’s portable, it doesn’t mean that Chord has compromised on the quality of the components that make up the Chordette -- it can power your high-definition speakers or headphones just fine, with amazing sound quality. So, if you’re looking for a sound system that does not compromise, that will look sleek in your living room / office / bedroom, that will power up any party, and that you can carry in one hand, the Chordette is exactly what you are looking for.

The Chordette is composed of the following components:

The Prime is a high-end preamplifier with 4 analog stereo RCA inputs, bi-directional USB, TOSLink output, IR receiver, output to amplifier stage and Chordette control interface.Two other components that ship in this package can use two of those analog inputs. That means you can connect up to two more analog devices to your Chordette Prime preamplifier.This also means you can connect the Chordette to your laptop or HTPC and instantly make the Chordette Prime an output for all your music and movie players as if it was an external Plug-and-Play high-definition sound card.As if that wasn’t enough, the Chordette Prime will let you record digital sound coming from any of the four other analog inputs. If you have a tube amp connected to one of the inputs, you can use your computer connected through USB to record the sound coming from your amp. Since the DAC is external to your computer, you won’t get the parasitic noise that is so characteristic of onboard or cheap sound cards.The Prime includes a remote control that lets you govern the entire device at a distance. A special connector in the back of the Prime allows it to communicate with (and control) the other Chordette components in this unique package.The Prime includes an optical TOSLink output that you can use to digitally monitor recordings or feed into your favorite DAC or audio/video system

The Scamp power amplifier provides the power output for your loudspeakers.It has a powerful 40W RMS amplifier per channel, with the ability to bridge the two amplifiers into a mono block 80W RMS amplifier.You can connect a stereo analog RCA input to the Scamp (which you would normally connect to the Prime preamp stage in this package), and you can also connect the Scamp to your computer via USB, using it as a highly sophisticated sound card / DAC to drive your speakers directly. Given this, you can use the Scamp as an individual standalone amplifier without involving any other component of the Chordette.Of course, this amplifier has a gain control in the back.

The Chordette Toucan is an advanced, fully-adjustable dual headphone amplifier.It has both gold plated RCA inputs and true balanced XLR inputs for analog sources.Two headphone jacks allow two people to listen at the same time.An additional USB port allows for digital streaming directly to the Toucan. This means you can connect the Toucan as a standalone device to your laptop, and use it as a high-quality, external DAC and headphone amplifier.The Toucan also includes an advanced cross-feed network filter that adds stereo imaging to your headphone listening experience. Using this feature, you can listen to music through your headphones almost exactly as if you were listening to your music through loudspeakers.

The Chordette Peach is an advanced Bluetooth receiver for your Chordette or stereo system.The Peach receives and decodes audio via Bluetooth Apt-X, A2DP, USB, coax, and optical digital inputs. Hook up your or your friend’s phone via Bluetooth, and start playing music on your Chordette without wires.The Peach outputs decoded audio through a pair of stereo RCA connectors.

The components of the custom Google Chordette come in a convenient and incredibly sturdy carrying case that holds them securely, with rubberized feet to prevent scratches on your furniture and to isolate the Chordette from any vibrating surfaces. It comes with a full set of “daisy chain” connectors that allow to connect all components of your Chordette -- power inputs, audio inputs and outputs, and control bus. The connectors have been customized with the traditional Google red/yellow/green/blue color scheme.
